On the left side of your screen is the Chat List, containing all conversations you've ever had.

• Organization: Newest conversations appear at the top.
• Entry Details: Each entry displays the other user's avatar and username. Critically, it also shows the title of the listing the chat was initiated from. You can click this listing title to be taken directly to the ad, providing instant context for the conversation.

When you select a conversation, it opens in the main window.

• Header: At the top, you'll see the user's info and, once again, the clickable title of the relevant listing. You'll also see a connection status icon:
  • ● Green Icon: You are actively connected to the chat service.
  • ● Red Icon: Your connection is temporarily interrupted.

• Chat Input: This is where you type your messages. To the left of the text input field, you'll find the handshake icon 🤝. As covered in the [Negotiations](./the-art-of-the-deal-negotiations) module, this is how you send a formal, on-chain offer to the other party.

For your safety and for accountability, all chats are stored and can never be deleted. This creates a permanent record of all discussions and agreements made on the platform, which is crucial evidence if a dispute ever arises.
