Phantom is a non-custodial wallet that lives in your browser as an extension or on your phone as an app. It's the most popular wallet on Solana for its user-friendly interface and strong security. It is the official wallet supported by SMT for the smoothest experience.

Follow these steps precisely. Your financial security depends on it.

1. Download from the Official Source
Navigate only to the official Phantom website: https://phantom.app.

SECURITY_WARNING: Triple-check the URL. Scammers create fake websites to steal your funds. Only use https://phantom.app.

2. Add to Your Browser
Click the download button and add the Phantom extension to your browser (Chrome, Brave, Firefox, or Edge). Once installed, you should see a small ghost icon 👻 in your browser's toolbar.

3. Create a New Wallet
Click the Phantom icon and select "Create a New Wallet".

You will now be shown your Secret Recovery Phrase (also called a Seed Phrase). This is a list of 12 words. This is the master key to all funds in your wallet.

TREAT THIS PHRASE LIKE IT IS A PILE OF CASH. ANYONE WHO HAS IT CAN TAKE EVERYTHING.

DO: Write it down on a piece of paper. Store it in a safe, offline location (like a safe deposit box or a physical safe). Consider making two copies.
DO NOT: Store it on your computer in a text file.
DO NOT: Take a screenshot of it.
DO NOT: Email it to yourself or save it in a cloud drive.
DO NOT EVER: Share it with anyone, including SMT staff. We will NEVER ask for it.

Once you have secured your phrase, Phantom will ask you to confirm it.

Next, you'll create a password. This password is for convenience. It locks and unlocks your wallet on this specific device. If you forget this password, you can always restore your entire wallet on a new device using your Secret Recovery Phrase.

Congratulations, operator. Your wallet is now active. You have successfully established your identity on the Solana blockchain.
